This limited edition Cohana Waxed Canvas Tool Tote with Kimono is available in one colour – sakura.  It’s a special spring edition tool tote that combines durable waxed canvas with kimono textile. Pair it with matching Sakura 2026 notions to create a cohesive and harmonious tool set.  Please note that this item will not be restocked once sold out.

Story of Cohana Waxed Canvas Tool Tote with Kimono

A light yet durable tote bag makes it a snap to organise tools or sewing notions. The Waxed Canvas Tool Tote is fitted with exterior pockets for convenient storage of smaller items, and its wide basket-like shape is both stylish and practical. The waxed canvas fabric is woven in the Kansai region of Western Japan, which is then dyed, treated and sewn in a studio in Osaka.

It is water repellent and extremely durable. The unique texture of the canvas gains luster and softness as you use it.

Our Canvas Pouches and Waxed Canvas Accessory Pouches are a perfect complement to the Waxed Canvas Tool Tote. Up to three can nest inside as removable compartments for effortless storage. You can customize the number of pouches depending on what you want to store at that time.

“Ichimaruni” represents the number 102, which also sounds “人に: HITONI” means “for people” in Japanese. Ichimaruni creates bags that are close to the person who carries them and that value “a sense of presence that appears without being too assertive”.

Handling precautions

  • This product is made of waxed canvas. When folded, the paraffin coating may crack and turn white, and lines known as “chalk marks” may appear on the surface.
  • Waxed canvas has a firm texture and a slight wax-like scent at first, but with use, it will gradually soften and the scent will fade.
  • For surface dirt, gently wipe the area with a slightly damp cloth, or use a white eraser to remove marks.
  • For oil-based stains (such as fingerprints), use a soft brush with diluted mild detergent to gently clean the area.
  • To maintain the wax coating, please avoid washing the product.  If overall cleaning is necessary, gently hand wash the product. Please note that the texture and characteristics of the wax coating will be reduced, but the canvas will develop a softer, more comfortable feel.
  • Discolouration and colour migration can be caused when wet.
  • Mold and stains may occur on canvas in hot and humid environments. Please store in a well ventilated area.
  • The tag is made of genuine leather and may slightly stretch or shrink. Also wetting with water or sweat, as it may cause colour fading or stains.
  • The tassel made of silk may fade or discolour due to friction, moisture, or ultraviolet rays.
  • Keep out of reach of infants and young children.
